Application Process

Admission Requirements

Admission Application

Create an online account to submit your child's application. A non-refundable application fee of $50 is required with your application. The 2024-2025 application deadline is January 12, 2024.

Birth Certificate and Immunizations

All students must submit a copy of their birth certificate for the admission process. Students must be four years old by September 1st. Immunization records are required for all incoming students. 

Teacher Recommendation Form

A completed teacher recommendation form is required for applicants currently enrolled in school. This should be submitted to the Admissions Office by February 2, 2024. You may electronically send the recommendation form to the teacher within the online application portal or print a copy for the teacher to complete. All recommendation forms are confidential between the student's teacher and the Admissions Office. We ask that recommendations be submitted after January 1st in order to allow adequate time for teachers to get to know students during the fall semester.

Progress Report

If your child is enrolled in a Pre-K3 program, we require copy of their progress report or skills checklist. Please upload the report within the online portal by February 2nd.

Student Visit

All applicants are asked to participate in a meet-and-greet with our Pre-K4 teacher. Dates for visits will be released in December.

Admission Application

Admission Testing

The Wechsler Intelligence Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence (WIPPSI) is required for all Kindergarten applicants. The test must be administered by a licensed diagnostician or psychologist. Trafton requires applicants to submit current testing (no more than one year from the date of administration). 

Trafton partners with Tami Renfro of Educational Specialists, LLC. Please contact her to schedule testing. She may be reached at 713-461-7996 or tamiclark1@gmail.com. Please download her introductory letter and student/family information form. Testing must be completed by February 2, 2024.

Trafton requires applicants to submit current testing (no more than six months from administration). You may submit two ISEE tests for admission. Testing must be completed by February 2, 2024.

3 previous years of report cards are required for all applicants. Parents may upload report cards during the application process or email them to admissions@trafton.org. Please upload the report cards within the online portal by February 2nd.

Student Visits

All applicants are invited to an in-class student visit. Dates to reserve a visit will be announced in December. 

Immunizations

Immunization records are required for all incoming students.

Admission Testing

The Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) is required for all applicants entering grades 5-8. You may register for the test here. Trafton's school code is 571114. The ISEE will be offered at Trafton on January 20th at 8:30 am. The test is only open to students who have submitted an application. Please contact the Admissions Office for the testing code. Trafton requires applicants to submit current testing (no more than six months from administration). You may submit two ISEE tests for admission.

Testing must be completed by February 2, 2024.
