Trafton wants to ensure a good balance between the classroom and experiences outside of school. Trafton makes field trips a major part of a student's education in order to enhance their learning experience or to just have some fun. In addition to local field trips, Trafton students have the opportunity to take educational and fun trips out of the Houston area.

Field Trips

Field trips include visits to museums, plays, and other locations that enhance the Trafton learning experience.

Texas History Trip

Every October, Trafton's seventh and eighth grade students travel to the Texas Hill Country to learn about our great state's history, people, and culture. Typically, the Texas History Trip includes visits to locations such as the Alamo, the Capitol, various historical sites, museums, and much more. The Texas History Trip is mandatory for all upper school students.

Camp Tejas

Trafton's lower school students travel to Camp Tejas near La Grange, Texas each May for a three day stay in the Hill Country. This is a great opportunity for fourth, fifth, and sixth grade students to have fun at the end of a challenging school year.

Spring Trip

In May, Trafton's upper school students have the option to travel on the Spring Trip, which alternates each year between "educational" and "fun," allowing students who spend both their seventh and eighth grade years at Trafton a chance for learning one year and excitement the next. Past trips included visits to Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, and Disneyworld. Those students who choose not to travel on the Spring Trip go on a series of fun, local field trips throughout the week.
