Academic Overview and Curriculum

Trafton stresses strong fundamental academic skills. Reading, writing, and mathematics receive strong emphasis. Students participate in the Science Fair, Geography Bee, Houston Chronicle Spelling Bee, and the PSIA (Private School Interscholatic Association) Competition.

Every Spring students in all grades take the Stanford Achievement tests. Every year we have many 6th grade students who qualify, based on their achievement test scores, for the Duke University Talent Search.

Trafton incorporates the Accelerated Reader software system to encourage our students in extracurricular reading. The list of supported titles may be found in .pdf format by Title or Author.
